Around 1.5 million Syrian refugees are thought to have sought refuge in Lebanon from the civil war raging in their country. Thousands live year round in makeshift tents.
I took these photos during a UNHCR-organised trip to the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon.
I photographed Syrian refugees in camps all around Lebanon, during a filming trip organized by UNHCR. This informal camp was among the vineyards and fruit farms of the Bekaa Valley. The people lived in tents on the mud which in winter were water logged and cold and baking in summer.
